Jim Jones - Harlem's American Gangster (Original Version) (2007)



In late 2007, Jim Jones released the "Harlem's American Gangster" mixtape as an obvious jab at Jay-Z's album "American Gangster" album. The two had been embroiled in a war of words for some time and this showed that there was no love lost.

However, conflict would surround this album even further. When the retail version of the mixtape was released in February 2008, it was significantly altered.

Max B, who had been a frequent collaborator and influence on Jones' music through signature hooks and verses, was scrubbed from the new album version.

A monetary dispute between the two caused Max's presence on the album to be whittled down to nothing. However, the originally released version with Max B still's contributions still intact has remained. Check it out below:
