LOST MEDIA: Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz - Deja Vu (Uptown Baby) (Tell Me Where You From Regional / Radio Station Remixes) (1997)

in 1997, New York duo Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz released "Deja Vu (Uptown Baby)" famous for its smooth Steely Dan-sampling beat, standout verses, and memorable chorus. In short, it was a great song and still is.

It is unquestionably a New York anthem as the emcees shout out various New York boroughs proudly on the song. The song was a US hit in '97/'98 and many regional radio stations got versions shouting out various towns/regions.

There are the four regional remixes readily available online - Bay Area, L.A., Mid-Atlantic, & Florida. According to Discogs (https://www.discogs.com/Lord-Tariq-Peter-Gunz-Deja-Vu-Uptown-Baby-Tell-Me-Where-You-From-Regional-Mixes/release/1914022), that would leave two remixes missing online (Southwest & Midwest), but available on vinyl.

In addition, myself and others, remember there being radio station specific remixes as well. These are a bit more tricky as I can't remember if it was an actual edit by Tariq & Gunz or by the radio station. However, I vaguely remember it being 97.9 The Beat in Dallas that had the remix back in the day.

I also have seen several requests for the JAM'N 94.5 remix from Boston. This song apparently has SEVERAL remixes, so there's no telling how many more are out there! As usual, email findingrapmedia@gmail.com if you have any leads. Listen below to the found versions:
